Job title : Chief Cashier
Store :
Department : Store Operations
Reports to : Store Manager, Senior Store Manager
SUMMARY
Be responsible for (1) customer service, (2) cashiering activities, (3) house keeping, (4) rules and regulations, and (5) staff’s productivity and efficiency.
RELATIONS
Report to : Store Manager, Senior Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager.
Internal : All Parkson’s staffs.
External : Customers, Promoters, Counter managers, banks.
Supervises : Assistant chief cashiers, Cashiers.
KEY DUTIES
1. Customer Services
- Provide good customer services to encourage “plus selling”. Be polite and listen alternatively to customers, staffs needs.
- Get information, answer customers' questions, and provide information on store, promotion and its merchandise to customers.
- Resolve customers and staffs complaints, conflicts or concerns relating to cashiering procedures, activities.
Requirements: Satisfy all customers’ needs, no complains from customers.
2. Cashiering activities
- Safeguard and control all forms of money such as: cash, gift vouchers, coupons, stamps in accordance with company policies.
- Submit business reports on time and accurate.
- Maintain all Point of Sale (POS) machines, money detectors, tools and equipments in good working condition.
- Keep important secrets and confidential records in their personal custody.
- Prepare money for bank deposits and arrange withdrawals.
- Verify cash held against records. Prepare statement after closing the day’s business.
- Prepare for daily float, stationeries.
- Regularly update foreign currency rate and be responsible for money exchange.
- Check on all credit cards used by customers against the black listed records supplied by credit card companies and make sure that both the signatures are identical.
Requirements: Efficient, accurate cash management, enough float and stationeries for cashiering, well maintained POS machines, tools and equipments. All kind of reports submitted on time.
3. House Keeping
- Assign subordinates, monitor and check procedures on house keeping duties.
Requirements: House keeping in assigned area is free of dust, arranged neatly, tidily.
4. Rules and Regulations
- Follow all working procedures, the company’s policies, rules and regulations.
Requirements: cashiering guidelines, the rules and regulations are strictly followed.
5. Management
- Manage all cashiers within the store, allocate duties to cashier and assistant chief cashiers, and coordinate their works and prepare monthly duty rooster for subordinates.
- Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures for the department.
- Be regularly responsible for designing and implementing cashiering guidelines.
- Train, motivate and supervise subordinates engaged in cashiering, performing services to customers.
- Appraise staff’s performance and handle staff’s grievances and complains from internal and external customers.
Requirements: Efficient manpower on duty, staffs are competent in cashiering, efficient, productive and timely meetings. Appraisal result is evaluated accurately, fair with staff’s performance. Staff’s grievances are solved within the competence. Staff turnover at minimum level.
6. Other duties
- Other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by Store Manager, Senior Store Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- 25 years old or older
- Graduated College, University.
- At least two-year experience at management level and at the same position.
- English ability: Fluency.
- Be able to work at shift
- Good health.
- Honesty, carefulness: Ability to be an honest, careful person.
- Customer service skills: Customer service minded.
- Team work skill: Actively promote team work.
- Leadership: Acting leadership by example.
- Persuasion: Ability to persuade others in specific situations.
- Reasoning ability: Ability to definite problems. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with difficult situations.
